Now Hiring: Assistant Manager

Steve's Hot Dogs on South Grand - the home of the OFFICIAL hot dog of St. Louis, as seen on the Cooking Channel and The Food Network is seeking a talented person who loves leading and motivating people, upholding standards, and providing a stellar experience for customers to serve as its restaurant Assistant Manager.

This team member will be an integral part of building out our larger restaurant vision, helping us ensure a high performing core location as the brand grows with additional layers and external locations. We've got BIG plans and we want you to grow as we grow!

This valued team member will work with a sense of purpose and will:

  • Work closely with the General Manager to run the day-to-day business of the South Grand location

  • Lead, motivate, and hold others accountable to our service and food quality standards

  • Help to shape customer experience by working primarily in the Front of House - welcoming and guiding new customers through their experience while also supporting other Front of House staff in food and drink service.

  • Serve on the leadership team of the restaurant - helping to make crucial leadership decisions.

  • Help with executing and improving systems and processes that keep the restaurant running smoothly - such as budgeting, sourcing materials, maintenance, cleaning, as needed.

The talented candidate chosen for this role:

  • Must show a natural propensity for leadership

  • Have front of house service and/or bartending experience in their background

  • Be service-oriented, social, gregarious, and excited to interact with customers - focused on their experience.

  • Be coachable, trainable, and willing to grow with the opportunity

  • Be able to effectively lead, motivate and hold employees accountable

  • Have a mix of evening and day availability - and be okay with closing up to 3-4 nights per week

  • Culinary background is preferred


The compensation for this role will $38,000 to $44,000 salaried to start, depending on experience level. A more junior candidate may be hired on the lower end of this compensation range, and will have the opportunity to work up through training and taking on more responsibilities over time. Because this role is tied to the profitability and success of the store, additional compensation can be achieved by helping to generate higher sales, better customer experience and greater levels of profitability.


This role is eligible for health insurance after 90 days (full time employees only) and one week of paid vacation at one year, equivalent to the average number of hours worked during first year.
