Steve’s Hot Dogs is the home of the Official Hot Dog of St. Louis. These dogs are legendary. Every all-beef Nathan’s Famous hot dog is cold smoked, grilled and topped to perfection on a fresh-baked bun. Our menu showcases creative flavor profiles ranging from sweet to spicy and savory. Every order promises to leave you wanting more.

Our menu features the city we love prominently - from our locally-baked buns to regionally-sourced toppings.
Every month, we highlight another local St. Louis eatery when we collaborate with local chefs to come up with limited time collaborations - such as Strange Donuts, Hi-Pointe Drive-In, Crown Candy Kitchen and more.

Start with our dogs and brats, try our housemade chili and explore our gourmet mac & cheese bowls. Wash it down with a cold St. Louis beer or cocktail featuring locally-distilled spirits. Round out your meal with St. Louis's famous Fritz’s Frozen Custard and Ice Cream Factory for dessert. There’s something for everyone at Steve’s Hot Dogs - including our award-winning vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

THESE DOGS ROCK.

The Official Hot Dog of St. Louis

In 2022, the City of St. Louis named our St. Louis-style dog the official hot dog of St. Louis.

Over 5 weeks, our customers tried and voted on a variety of hot dog recipes that we crowd-sourced. Each recipe represented the flavors of St. Louis’s culinary history - pork steaks, slingers, Mayfair salads, and more.

Hundreds of customers tried and voted on the recipes in a bracket-style competition, eventually landing on what is now known as the St. Louis-style Dog.

Cities all over the nation have their own style of hot dog - Chicago, L.A., Detroit, Seattle - but the St. Louis World’s Fair played an important contribution to hot dog history, so it only seemed fitting that the City deserved to have its own hot dog.
