Build Back the Block Tornado Relief Concert Slated for June 17th

DJ Bill Reiter will kick things off at 5 pm. Funky Butt and Friends play at 6 pm.

We are thrilled to share some GOOD NEWS - on multiple fronts! The disaster crews working on Delmar have done nothing short of performing miracles. We have electricity & gas at our Delmar sites, so we're getting closer to reopening Steve's Delmar & The Fountain on Delmar! We're aiming for 6/17 for Steve's Hot Dogs and 6/18 for The Fountain on Delmar!

We couldn't reopen without finding a way to support those who can't right now, so we're partnering with our friends at Funky Butt Brass Band and members the band The Urge for
BUILD BACK THE BLOCK: a Tornado Relief Concert benefitting Delmar Main Street and their efforts to help businesses impacted by the tornado 𝒓𝒆𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅, 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒆 & 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒉.

We have BIG needs on Delmar - which means BIG fundraising goals, so please come ready to give if you can. And if you can't, and just need a joyous night of community, come for that too - because our friends at The Clark-Fox Family Foundation, Tim Bottini - Country Financial, MINI of St. Louis & Autohaus BMW are helping to underwrite this event to help us hit those goals.

The concert hopes to raise $50,000 for impacted businesses through a combination of sponsorships and donations. While the concert is free for all to attend, there is a suggested donation of $20 that people can make at the event. Eickenhorst said it was important to the group that there be an option for folks to attend for free to make the event accessible for the entire community.

There will also be opportunities at the concert for people to donate to Steve’s Hot Dogs Feed the People program which provides meals monthly to people in need in the community through partnerships with nonprofits. In response to tornado relief, Steve’s fed more than 750 people, completely depleting the program’s funds. Their hope is to replenish the funds so they can continue providing monthly meals to the nonprofits who work with them each month. Since 2020, Steve’s Hot Dogs has provided more than 10,000 meals to people in need in the St. Louis community.

At the concert, impacted businesses can also work with SLDC representatives who will be on hand to report their impacts and needs.
